New construction and refurbishment of an existing early 20th century light industrial unit, creating new offices, conference facilities, meeting areas, research spaces and children’s school for a leading children’s mental health charity at a brownfield site in King’s Cross.
The development will host a range of other activities, including research, training and clinical research. The project includes making a new home for a pioneering school for families with mental health issues.
CES created the sustainability/energy strategy including low carbon energy systems, natural ventilation, passive cooling and renewable energy sources including photovoltaic array and networked CHP creating a building that will achieve BREEAM “Excellent” status and 47% reduction in carbon emissions.
CES achieved planning permission under the London Borough of Islington‘s new environmental planning policies.
